Indian summer monsoon variability over North-East India: Impact of ENSO and IOD

چکیده
The influence of phase and amplitude Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) on the interannual variability summer monsoon rainfall (ISMR) over North East India (NEI) has been studied first time from 1960 to 2015. independent contribution different phases IOD ENSO in variabilities ISMR NEI is explained by correlation found that precipitation decreases due anomalous wind vector Bay Bengal (BOB) Sumatra region. northeasterly also reduces advecting moisture towards during pure positive event years (PPIOD) at 850 hPa. Conversely, a anomaly was BOB Pure (PEN) SST east-central Pacific before beginning month monsoon. Similarly, negative (PNIOD) show anomaly, which results moderate southwest Because random composite circulation field, changes mean monsoonal are not much significant La Niña (PLN). These studies direct phenomenon NEI.

Impact of variability in the Indian summer monsoon on the East Asian summer monsoon
We report on model experiments that support the hypothesis that the second mode of variability of the East Asian Summer Monsoon is influenced by the variability of the Indian Summer Monsoon. The results suggest that the recent trend towards drier conditions in northern China in summer is, at least partly, a consequence of the synchronous drying trend over India in summer noted by some authors. ...
متن کاملOscillation of 300 mb Anticyclone and Summer Monsoon Over North East India
Global position of the monthly mean Anticyclone (AC) time series, 300 mb aloft in the North-East Indian subcontinent over the range 0-45°N,60-130°E, were identified from the NCEP/ NCAR reanalysis dataset (1958-1998). Seasonal averagelatitude and longitude of the AC centres in the time series show two extreme complementary characters; 10.34°N (min), 102.27°E (max)in March and 29.08°N (max), 86.4...
متن کاملExtremes of the Indian summer monsoon rainfall, ENSO and equatorial Indian Ocean oscillation
[1] It is well known that anomalies of the Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall (ISMR) are linked to El Niño and Southern Oscillation (ENSO). We show that large anomalies of the ISMR are also linked to the Equatorial Indian Ocean Oscillation (EQUINOO) between states with enhancement/suppression of atmospheric convection over the western part of the equatorial Indian Ocean with suppression/enhancement...
متن کاملEast Asian summer monsoon precipitation variability since the last deglaciation
The lack of a precisely-dated, unequivocal climate proxy from northern China, where precipitation variability is traditionally considered as an East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) indicator, impedes our understanding of the behaviour and dynamics of the EASM. Here we present a well-dated, pollen-based, ~20-yr-resolution quantitative precipitation reconstruction (derived using a transfer function) ...
متن کاملInterannual Variability of Summer Monsoon Onset over the Western North Pacific and the Underlying Processes
Climatological summer monsoon onset over the South China Sea (SCS) and the western North Pacific (WNP) (defined as the region of 108–208N, 1208–1608E) displays three distinct stages. Around mid-May, monsoon rain commences in the SCS and the Philippines. In early to mid-June, the monsoon rain extends to the southwestern Philippine Sea. After mid-July, the rainy season starts in the northeastern ...
